ASAM 3.1 a residential treatment providing low-intensity clinical care for individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring mental health conditions. Residents at this care level usually reside in a group home environment, receiving support from both staff and peers. However, they receive only five hours of treatment per week, which is lower compared to other residential care levels. Outpatient Program involves less than nine hours of service per week, which can include individual and group counseling, psychoeducation, case management and pharmacotherapy. ASAM level 1 OP is based on a comprehensive assessment of the individual's needs and goals, and it is delivered by a qualified and trained staff.
